Privacy overview

We built Beenli for our own kids. We're not here to harvest data.

This is a plain-language overview of how we handle your family's information while we're in early access. It's not yet a full legal privacy policy, but it shows our thinking and where we're headed.

What we're actually doing with your data

Beenli started as a solution to our own piggy bank problem. Now that we're opening it to other families, we want you to know exactly what we collect and why - and what we'll never do.

What we collect

  • Account basics - Email and login info for the parent who sets up the hive.
  • Household activity - Task history, savings goals, and Honey Jar balances (the stuff that makes Beenli work).
  • Technical logs - Device type, general location, error reports - what we need to keep things running smoothly.

What we don't do

  • Collect more than we actually need to run Beenli.
  • Share kids' activity with advertisers or data brokers.
  • Store sensitive information we can't protect or justify.
  • Track kids across other apps or websites.

What the full policy will cover

Below is a preview of the formal privacy policy we're building. It's not complete yet, but it shows what we're thinking about and designing for.

1. What we collect

We'll spell out exactly what information we gather - login details, task entries, goal settings, usage patterns. Beenli tracks household activity, not individual kid profiles. We're not building dossiers on children.

2. How we use it

We use your data to power Beenli - task history, Honey Jar balances, maybe gentle insights about family patterns. That's it. We're not building ad profiles or selling your information. The data stays in service of your family's hive.

3. How long we keep it

We'll retain data as long as it's useful to you and necessary for the service. When you delete your account, we delete your data (except what we're legally required to keep, like payment records). We'll document backup procedures and timelines clearly.

4. Third-party services

Beenli uses trusted providers for authentication (Clerk), payments (Stripe), and database hosting (Neon). We'll list every third party clearly, explain what they do, and link to their privacy policies so you can see the full picture.

5. Your rights

You can request your data, ask us to delete it, or correct mistakes. Once we're subject to GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy laws, we'll explain those rights in detail. For now, email hello@beenli.com with any privacy questions, and we'll respond promptly.

6. Changes to this page

As Beenli grows, this page will too. When we publish the full legal policy, we'll announce it clearly and keep both the plain-language version and the legal text side by side.
