Terms Overview
How we expect Beenli to be used (while we're still figuring it out).
This is a plain-language overview of our expectations during early access. It's not a full legal Terms of Service yet - think of it as our handshake agreement while we build something families can trust.
The essentials
Beenli is a family tool for connecting effort with rewards. While we're in early access, use it with the same care and good faith you'd bring to any family ritual. Here's what matters most:
- No money movement: Beenli doesn't move or store real money. Honey is symbolic - it can represent pocket money, screen time, treats, or whatever your family agrees on. Parents handle all real-world transactions.
- Parent responsibility: One adult owns the account and controls settings, trust modes, PINs, and approvals. Kids don't have their own accounts - they use the shared family space under parental supervision.
- Early-access flexibility: Features, pricing, and policies will evolve as we learn from families. We'll communicate meaningful changes clearly and give you time to adjust.
What the full Terms will cover
Below are placeholders for the topics we'll address in the complete Terms of Service. They're not legally binding yet, but they show our thinking.
1. Definitions
Full Terms will define key concepts like "hive", "adult account owner", and "household member". For now "you" means the adult who created and manages your family’s Beenli account.
2. License to use Beenli
You'll get a limited license to use Beenli for personal, non-commercial family use. Things like reselling access, scraping data, or trying to break the service won't be allowed. During early access, just use Beenli in good faith for your family.
3. Billing and subscriptions
Beenli is free during early access. When we introduce paid plans, this section will explain how subscriptions work, how Stripe handles billing, and what happens if payments fail. For now: there are no charges.
4. Acceptable use
The full Terms will outline behaviors that aren't appropriate - harassment, harmful content, attempts to interfere with the service. For now: use Beenli in ways that are kind, lawful, and appropriate for homes with children.
5. Disclaimers and limits
Most Terms include disclaimers about uptime, data loss, and liability limits. We'll add those as Beenli matures. During early access, expect that Beenli may change, pause, or experience downtime as we improve it. Don't rely on it as your only record-keeping system.
6. Questions or concerns
The full Terms will explain how to contact us for formal disputes. For now, if something about Beenli doesn't feel right, email hello@beenli.com. We want to hear from you. hello@beenli.com. We want to hear from you.
